Calling Judgment and Curses

2 Ways it Works

Calling for an Entity’s sins to be brought to justice

When you are either a witness to or a victim of a crime against Righteousness, you may by all means call your persecutor to judgement before God of this crime. Remembering the principles of forgiveness and long-suffering, you must arrive on the other side of the ordeal before “filing a counter petition”. For example, if the devil asks our Father in Heaven to sift you as he did Job and Peter, your life will very quickly feel very unjust. You must go through this tribulation and prove yourself worthy before you are able to ask for retribution to be carried out for the devil’s false accusations.

This works the same way in the physical world as well, with a greater emphasis on the forgiveness part. God can still do miracles when both parties open their hearts up to him and if there is any hope for that to happen, God will wait. However some evil acts are committed by such evil people that are so far gone through their own choices. Oftentimes, these humans are victims to demonic influence and death can in fact be very merciful. God knows the difference between the human soul and where the evil influence took over and led the person astray.

Calling for retributions to be made even

When you have been egregiously harmed and/or attacked both Physically or Spiritually, you have the right to call for fairness to be made right. Put simply, if someone punches you, you now have righteousness on your side to punch them back the same. That doesn’t always mean it’s the right answer, but the principle of justice is underlying.

The spirit realm is full of dark and evil entities that constantly try to mess with us, invade our boundaries, possess our loved ones, and just ruin our day. Their tactic is to ambush quickly and flee before we even realize what happened. Run they might try, but our Words will find them with total precision. As we call for judgment upon them and retribution to be paid to them, it’s like taking out the garbage, or maybe even your neighbors garbage if they’ve already fled down the block.

Biblical Precedents

The Canaanite curse of Canaan

  • After Noah’s drunkenness, Noah pronounced a curse on his grandson Canaan (Genesis 9:25).
  • This curse had long historical impact and is an example what can happen when words are said and we’re not of Sound Mind.

Jacob’s accidental curse of Rachel

  • Laban pursues Jacob and accuses him of theft. Jacob, unaware Rachel has the idols, indignantly declares:

“Let the person that has taken them(Laban’s Idols) die!” (Gen 31:32)

  • This is not framed as a formal curse formula, but it is a rash oath—a self-imprecating declaration staking a life on his innocence.
  • Rachel dies in child birth some time later.

Jesus Curses the Fig Tree

  • In Matthew 21:18-22 Jesus is hungry and looking for food. He looks upon a fig tree and after finding no fruit he says: “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.”
  • The next day after passing by, the disciples saw the tree had withered from the roots and basically died overnight.

The Power of Cursing

Words are more than mere sounds or symbols—they carry immense power combined with intentionality, shaping our realities and influencing our spiritual journeys. In many spiritual traditions, language is seen as a creative force. Nowhere is this more evident than in the biblical story of Jacob and Rachel. When Rachel desperately sought children, she hid her father’s idols; unaware of her actions, Jacob inadvertently cursed whoever had them—tragically sealing Rachel’s fate.

This story serves as a compelling reminder that cursing is not just about using harsh language or swearing; it’s an act that can unleash unintended consequences through the energy we put into our words. Our speech can bless or harm—not only others but ourselves as well. In moments of frustration or anger, we may speak carelessly without understanding the spiritual weight behind what we say.

Let Jacob’s experience be a lesson: every single word matters on our steps as we climb the spiritual ladder higher and higher. We should consider it a blessing that God “ignores” the diarrhea that comes out of our mouth when we are far and distant from him. But if we want to grow closer to Him, it is literally impossible unless we clean up our words and speak with strict intentionality.

Jesus Christ: Like a Get Out of Jail Free Card

Such is the love of our Savior that through his Atonement Sacrifice, he is willing to take upon himself the weight of our sin when we wholeheartedly repent for our mistakes and agree to Follow Him. When calling another person to judgement, this principle works exactly like the Gospel states. After they repent, there’s nothing there to judge. They are washed clean entirely in the blood of the Lamb.

The exception here is if a person does a general repentance when in fact there is a bigger issue in the past that they never specifically listed by line item, or maybe even forgot about it. Nevertheless, all they need to do is repent, be still, and they are washed clean, free of judgement. Note: They may still have to make amends or make things right for their sin, and in serious cases this can take a very long time. Nevertheless, at the time of repentance, they are instantly washed clean.

The Key

As we climb higher and higher on the spiritual ladder, we get closer to God and he hears us more and more. So long as we speak in harmony with him, it will be done. In a world where Christians excel at looking the other direction and ignoring, it would be quite refreshing for us to confront the massive, raw, EVIL that is right in front of us. Declare your opposition to such anti-christ things and banish them to the pits of Hell. Just be careful not to harden your heart as you do it.
